Time & Labor

PeopleSoft Time and Labor solution automates the time reporting and processing of payable time and shares payable time information with PNA/GP to compensate time reporters for their payable time. Once pay run is complete in payroll application, the labor costs are sent back to T&L where these are distributed across payable time, a further integration with Financials may consume the costs for project costing.

Global Payroll

Global Payroll is the core PeopleSoft application that manages the payroll operations and absence management for an enterprise supporting multiple countries, languages and currencies in a typical multinational environment. The absence processing manages leaves and automates the leave accrual balance process. It contains no application specific rules or code. Pay Items called elements are combined into rules for payroll and absence processing that provides complete flexibility as there are no rules coded in application. 

A typical payroll or absence processing consists of three phases-
  1. Identification or pay selection - identifying which payees are to be paid for payroll run.
  2. Running payroll Calculation process, and
  3. Finalizing the payroll run.
The identification phase is executed once for each calendar group ID. Payroll or Absence calculations are done in Calculation phase, each payee is processed sequentially and each element of the process list is processed. Calculation phase can be repeated any number of times. When a calculation is first executed, all the payments are processed and during subsequent calculations only the payees that need a recalculation are processed. and payroll run is finalized as the last step. Also, there are postprocessing steps e.g. generating payslips, reporting etc.
